Ry Cooder is a multi-instrumentalist best known for his enthusiasm for traditional music, collaborations with musicians from around the world, and iconic slide guitar work. In fact, Ry Cooder’s slide guitar work is so iconic that the heavily modified instrument he famously uses to create and perform his music, and all guitars created in the style inspired by it bear his name. “Coodercasters”

This Waterslide T-Style Coodercaster features a Lollar String-Through Steel Pickup.

The String-through Steel is based on the Supro®/Oahu/Valco “string-through” pickup used on the original “Coodercaster.” A humbucking pickup that sounds like a single-coil, with a clear, clean tone, despite its unusually high output. Constructed with Alnico 5 magnets, a split-coil for hum cancelling, adjustable poles and a chrome-plated top that looks as good as the pickup sounds. The steel plate cover spreads the magnetic field to surround the strings. This increases the pickup’s sensitivity while reducing magnetic pull on the strings, resulting in increased sustain.
